What is telehealth?

Telehealth offers patients an opportunity to connect with their care team virtually through a phone or video visit. Your care team can assess and treat medical needs, such as:

  • COVID-19 (Concerns regarding mild to moderate symptoms or possible exposure)
  • Clearance to return to work after illness
  • Follow up of stable chronic conditions
  • Routine medication refills
  • Runny nose, mild to moderate sore throat, mild to moderate cough, possible pink eye
  • Possible urinary tract infection
  • Mild to moderate mood changes
  • Localized body rashes
  • And more….

To schedule a telehealth visit for Primary Care (Internal Medicine / Family Medicine) or Pediatrics, call our Patient Welcome Center at 1-505-232-1000. If you are using a mobile device, click here to call.

To schedule a telehealth visit for specialty care, please click here to locate the number for the specialty care clinic you wish to schedule with.

Once your video visit has been scheduled you will receive a confirmation email and can access your appointment through these steps.

Please note, we ask that patients login 15 minutes prior to their video visit to provide and confirm important information.


How to sign up

In order to receive secure virtual care, you must have a FollowMyHealth patient portal account and must have current access to it. If you already have a FollowMyHealth account, you are all set!


1. Create a FollowMyHealth Patient Portal Account by following these steps:

    • Visit followmyhealth.com and select the “I need to sign up” icon
    • Complete the “Sign Up and Connect” fields and watch for an email from noreply@followmyhealth.com
    • Open the email you receive and follow the FollowMyHealth Registration Instructions - please select the device you will be utilizing for registration instructions:

2. Install the FollowMyHealth App to your mobile device by following the instructions available here.

How to prepare

To ensure you are prepared for your video visit please do the following:

  • Ensure you have a FollowMyHealth patient portal account.
  • Confirm that you can access your FollowMyHealth account.
  • Please sign in/arrive 15 minutes early for your scheduled video visit.
  • Check your visual capabilities.You will need to use a device with a camera for your visit. Prior to your visit make sure your device's video application is working.
  • Check your audio capabilities to ensure you can communicate with your provider.

Can I get my prescriptions refilled?

Yes, you can get a prescription refill via a telehealth visit.

Will my insurance cover this?

Coverage is dependent on your health insurance plan. Please note that there may be a co-pay associated with this visit.

What if I don’t have access to the internet?

If you don’t have internet access, your phone is a great option for completing your video visit. Please note, standard data rates apply when using your cell phone data plan for a telehealth visit.

What if I don’t have a device with a camera?

A telehealth visit over the phone is a great option.

What if I need an in-person appointment?

We are still conducting essential in-person appointments. If you or a family member is in need of an in-person appointment, please call our Patient Welcome Center at 1-505-232-1000.

What if I need lab work?

If deemed necessary your provider can order your labs through a telehealth visit and will then give you instructions on how to have these drawn with limited exposure to others.

When should I contact the FollowMyHealth Technical Support Team versus my provider's office for questions?

Contact FollowMyHealth Tech Support Team if:

  • You are having trouble downloading the application
  • You are experiencing difficulties with the performance of the application once you have downloaded it, or need general help getting set up on the platform

Contact your provider’s office if:

  • You need to schedule an additional telehealth appointment
  • You need to change/reschedule an existing telehealth appointment
  • You have any questions specifically related to your health or are in need of general medical advice
