ABQ Health Partners Appoints New Vice Presidents
Medical group expands leadership team to oversee population health, business development, and marketing
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – (August 8, 2016) ABQ Health Partners, a multi-specialty medical group, has appointed two vice presidents to strategically advance the group’s Total Care initiative.
Melissa Steffan has joined ABQ Health Partners as Vice President of Business Development, Patient Experience, and Marketing & Communications. She will play a key role in analyzing business growth opportunities, with a strong focus on improving and enhancing the patient experience. In her new position, Steffan will also develop and implement marketing and communication strategies, both internally and externally. She will be responsible for securing business development contracts, creating advertising campaigns, and securing positive returns on marketing investments. Above all, her main focus will always be to ensure that the patient has positive interactions with the group’s health care providers and professional staff.
Steffan comes to ABQ Health Partners with a wealth of executive leadership experience in local healthcare. Her previous roles include Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development and Executive Director of Telehealth Services. Steffan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Communication from the University of New Mexico, and also has a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration and Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.
Joon Lee is the group’s new Vice President of Operations for Population Health. In his new role, Lee serves alongside clinical teams working to deliver upon ABQ Health Partners unique Total Care initiative, while also working to lower costs for their patient population through initiatives in care management, quality and coding, and the group’s community-based affiliate program.
Prior to joining ABQ Health Partners, Lee served as the Regional Operations Director for DaVita Kidney Care in California. His vast educational experience includes both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of California, Berkley, and a Master of Public Health, Health Policy & Management degree from UCLA. Lee is part of the UCLA School of Public Health Alumni-Student Mentor program, and was a former chair member of the UCLA Health Services Alumni Association.
Steffan and Lee will provide strategic and operational support to ABQ Health Partner’s Total Care initiative, a unique, prevention-focused, patient-centered approach, in which coordinated teams of primary care providers, specialists, and professional staff work together to manage all aspects of a patient’s care and overall health. The goal is to offer patients the right care, at the right time, in the right setting, every time.
